2010 Membership

In the coming months, CHAI will be focused on growing membership with the goal of having 2,500 members at the end of this year. Our mission is to grow our membership in order to expand our efforts in Haiti. The more hands on deck, the more people we can effect at a time when Haiti needs our attention and efforts the most.

Members play many different roles at CHAI. Voluntary efforts are needed for correspondence, raising funds, organizing events, collecting and packaging medical and school supplies, providing translations to Haitian refugees and participating in the rebuilding of the schools and clinics in Haiti. We are growing as an organization and as a union of force that will positively affect the progress of Haiti now and the near future. We hope you will become a part of that. Join us today!

Why Join CHAI?

As a member of CHAI, you will have a direct link to assisting needy children in Haiti and networking with other concerned citizens in Illinois that believe in and support CHAI's purpose. Additionally, your membership dues directly support children in Haiti with new schools, student scholarships, clinics and medical missions. Whether you are from Haitian descent, interested in the Haitian culture, or a concerned citizen, you can join CHAI. There are also exclusive benefits just for members and CHAI members also have access to our online directory of members.

Membership Levels:

Silver Membership: This membership is designed for any person who wishes to join CHAI. Annual individual memberships are $50. This includes:

  • Email Newsletters
  • 1 free admission to a local CHAI fundraising event
  • Discount admission to all local CHAI fundraising events
  • CHAI meeting voting privileges if you are in attendance
  • Various discounts from corporate sponsors of CHAI
  • Annual financial report of progress towards our mission

Gold Membership: This level of membership is designed for people who want to be more active in CHAI. Annual memberships are $150. The expectation is that this individual will actively participate in meetings and community events, taking on a bigger role to build our membership base.

Platinum Membership: This level of membership is designed for significantly active members and it is valid for up to four years. Four year memberships are required to pay a one time payment in the first year. This expectation is that this individual will actively participate in meetings and community events, taking on a bigger role to build our membership base and drive further community participation for our fundraising efforts.

Life Membership: This level is designed for the most active members and it is valid for life. Life memberships are $1200. Life memberships are required to pay a one time payment in the first year. This membership has exclusivity to Consulate General of Haiti meetings, name induction with Haitian facilities and an annual cultural gift from Haiti.
